Even Scrooge will savor WIDT's quarter-of-a-million-dollar production of this enchanting Christmas ballet, set to Tchaikovsky's beloved "Nutcracker Suite". This year's lavish production runs the 2nd and 3rd weekends in December with evening and matinee performances. All performances are presented at the Performing Arts Center on the South Whidbey High School campus, 5675 South Maxwelton Road, just off Highway 525 in Langley on beautiful Whidbey Island. Map
Traditional and wildly imaginative choreography blend to stage the tale of Clara's enchanged Christmas Eve... whereupon her mysterious Godfather's magic lead to wonderous things!! Clara journeys to lands where snowflakes and flowers dance; where fairies, mermaids, even a dragon perform, and a handsome Prince comes to the rescue! Expect the unexpected! WIDT invites over 50 guest artists here and from across the U.S. to join its 20 Company dancers on stage for The Nutcracker!
